POEM: White as Snow

By Deborah Keith

Brisk cold air whipped my hair

as we cruised to Glacier Mendenhall.

Waterfalls cascaded down the rocky banks

Tickling the tall green mountains

As icebergs peaked their heads above the water.

Icebergs that were splotchy dark inside,

Icebergs that were white with pretty blue stripes,

Icebergs that seemed to float by

defying giant cruise ships gliding up-river,

Icebergs that slinked away not wanting to be seen.

Like people in the world

Some icebergs showed many dark with sin

Other icebergs were white as snow

Covered by Christ’s sacrificial death

because of God’s unconditional love for all of mankind

Jesus paid for that dark ugliness by washing

that sin away to be cleansed in God’s sight…

totally white!!

God asks that ALL believe in

Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection.

He sees people as sinless when

Each one becomes a Believer …

God asks that ALL believe in

Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection.

He sees people as sinless when

Each one becomes a Believer …

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

And thou shalt be saved …”

To become sinless in God’s sight-

As a white iceberg

Blessed with a bit of brilliant blue

Loved by our Maker and Father God,

Make me a blessing, Lord–

Make me pure white as snow!
