Helping Communities: EDUCATORS in the COMMUNITY - Katheryn Meagher, PhD, MBA, MHA

By Sue Fitton

If there is one word that describes Katheryn Meagher, it would be passion. Katheryn is the Founder and President of Auxilium Manus DEO: Helping Hands with God, a Christian Career Development non-profit offering employment and spiritual guidance for those seeking sustainable careers. Katheryn assists people in the best possible use of the talent God’s given them.

Katheryn’s career began in retail.  Working with her employer, one objective was to recruit people who would benefit the company.  Thus also began her awareness of the significance of Human Resources and hiring people that would not only benefit the company but create excellence within the business.  This exposure prompted her to pursue more education in business, especially Human Resources.

Given her desire to do research, Katheryn acquired MBA and MHR degrees.  All the while she was recruiting people for various businesses, teaching classes at several colleges, and even becoming a consultant in developing Human Resource departments and materials in businesses.  These experiences expanded her knowledge and need to help businesses with employment law, employment relationships, and the development of employee manuals/handbooks.  Her passion has always been  connecting the right people to a company; making “professional dreams become a reality.”

With further education (Ph.D.), Katheryn addresses more objectives within her ministry:

· Investing in Workforce (career planning and development, providing workshops/job fairs)

· On a Mission: Career Clothing and Daywear (provide clothes, promote appropriate dress)

· Toys for Joy (holiday collections and distributions)

Katheryn says: “I have been there, done that! I relate to the broken-heartedness of people; thus desire to assist, promote, encourage, and love people to be what God wants, to pursue God’s purpose.”   She continues to teach. Prayer has been paramount in working with students, in her discussion of her own background, helping students know she cares.  She relies on donations to pursue the diverse objectives of Auxilium Manus DEO: “Helping Hands with God,” to be a stepping stone for people. “I consider myself blessed, and helping others is a priority, blessed by His grace, and as He has changed me, I know He can change others.”
